Linear

Connect Linear and the issues assigned to you show up in Tweek, in their own list, ready to plan into your week. Linear is a Premium feature.

Connect

Go to Settings → your calendar → Synchronization and switch on Linear. Linear asks for one permission — read access to your workspace. On a calendar you share with someone, the owner is the one who connects it.

The first import takes a few seconds. If it takes longer you can close the window — it carries on in the background and the issues turn up on their own.

Which issues come in

Only the issues assigned to you, and only those in a Todo or In Progress status. Tweek puts them in a list called Linear in your Someday section and keeps it up to date every 5 minutes; Sync now in the Linear settings runs an import at once.

Drag issues into a day when you plan — the sync never moves them back. The list is yours to keep: rename it and the issues keep landing in it, and your own tasks can sit in it too.

Color by status and Move to Today

Two switches sit in the Linear settings, both off until you turn them on.

Color by status paints every imported task with the color of its issue’s status — a color for Not started, one for In progress, and any single status of your workspace can get its own. A task you tick off drops the status color, and switching the setting off takes back the colors Tweek painted.

Move In progress issues to Today puts an issue straight into today as soon as it moves into an In progress status in Linear. A task you had already placed yourself stays where you put it.

When an issue changes in Linear

Nothing travels the other way: ticking a task off in Tweek doesn’t close the issue, and renaming or deleting it changes nothing in Linear.

When an issue is finished in Linear, the task is ticked off here and stays where you put it. When it is unassigned, taken over by somebody else or deleted, the task goes — out of the list, and out of a day you had planned it into. An issue moved to the backlog leaves the list, but a day you had planned it into keeps it.

If Linear switches itself off

If the Linear row switches off and asks you to reconnect, Tweek’s access ended on the Linear side. Switch it back on and allow access again. Nothing is lost in the meantime: the list and its tasks stay where they are.

Disconnect

Disconnecting asks you to confirm and tells you how many unfinished Linear tasks it is about to delete. Those are removed for good, wherever you had put them, together with their dates, subtasks, files and notes. Tasks you have ticked off stay as ordinary Tweek tasks. The Linear list is removed once it is empty; if you had filed your own tasks in it, it stays.
