"Move uncompleted tasks to Today" has stopped working
If your unfinished tasks are no longer being carried over to the current day, the most likely reason is that the "Move uncompleted tasks to Today" setting has been switched off, not a bug. Open the calendar settings and check the toggle: on mobile tap the initials icon in the upper right corner, go to Settings and choose the calendar; on the web click the initials icon, go to Settings and choose the calendar. The toggle is in the Calendar section at the bottom.
Why would it switch off by itself? The feature runs on our servers every night for every calendar that has it enabled. To avoid doing that work for calendars nobody uses anymore, it is turned off automatically once a calendar has had no task edits for 21 days. Viewing the planner does not count as activity; only adding, editing, completing or deleting a task does. A three-week holiday is enough to trigger it, which is why this usually comes up right after a break.
It does not come back on by itself. Editing tasks again refreshes the calendar's activity, but the toggle stays off until you switch it on, so turn it back on as soon as you notice. You will be asked to confirm; from then on the carry-over runs again every night.
One thing to know before you do: switching the toggle on does not reach back for tasks that have been sitting in the past for a while. The carry-over only picks up tasks from the last few days, so anything older stays on the day where it stopped. Move those to Today once by hand — after that the automation keeps up on its own, because nothing is ever more than a day behind.
Each calendar has its own toggle, so if you use several calendars, check the one whose tasks stopped moving. Recurring tasks are covered by a separate switch, "Include Recurrent tasks", which appears under the main toggle once it is on.
